Loved the details about the bridge from Generations. I never knew that and was awesome to hear about it.

I want pet inventory too! I really hope the engineers figure out a way to make it happen.

Loved the interview with Gecko, lots of good information there. Especially on the story and how it gets developed. That was all new to me I don’t think I’ve heard it ever outlined with that much detail. So thanks for drawing that out and thanks to Gecko for sharing it all!

Once more, I predict the Other is the player. I still think this is how it will turn out.

On the community question, the new lockbox looks nice. I haven’t tried for anything from it yet, but I expect I’ll collect everything but the ships before it’s gone. The two big ships I’m not interested in at all, so I’ll give them a pass. The t5 looks pretty I’ll stick one on an alt and I’ll surely snag a couple for prizes for give always for my fleet. The new disruptors I’m loving as nearly all my kdf use disruptors. The boosts, I still consider a complete waste and I wish they were removed completely. I’m not sure there’s any level of reward I would ever want to receive.

I like the ships and it sounds like they made some positive changes to this lock box. I don’t open lock boxes… Buuuuut that T6 Resolute Class almost made me give up my beloved Vesta and drop $30. The main thing that held me back was that it dose not have a science focus Plus I just got my Vesta to T5-U. But if we ever got a Resolute Class science variant…just saying. 😉

Great show, and thanks again to Geko for the interview. One note on story, please just change a line or two for kdf/kdf roms, stop trying to use the phrase “prime directive”. Only the feds consider it a primary responsibility.
As for the lockbox, its alrite, my typical 40 boxes did not achieve any better results than past ones.

I have to say listening to Lead Designer Al “Captain Geko” Rivera, I feel for him on rewards.

I have not supported the changes and been harsh towards Mr. Rivera, but hearing his reasoning has changed my mind.

thanks for a great series of interviews

“Better reward drops from lock boxes”… I’m not seeing it. After my own personal experience, and reports from other friends opening this lock box as well, we aren’t seeing increased chances for better rewards, nor feeling a better return on our investment. R+D mini packs just got replaced with regular packs, and the bonus pools got their values increased… It in no way increased the odds on getting the “bling”. I personally opened over 100 boxes and only got 1-2 traits I may or may not use. Should’ve saved 100 bucks or just sold the keys in bulk to buy what I wanted out of the box in the first place… Ah say la vie.

    • TobiasLTF on 2015-07-23

On another side note, I feel that Cryptic is letting “Devices” and their slots go to waste…. There are so many fewer devices out there when compared to consoles, the disparity is amazing. Perhaps a new breed of devices should be looked at as an additional income generator…

      • GavinRuneblade on 2015-07-23

Check out the current feature episode rewards. This week the reward is a box of 5 devices plus the ability to craft more at will, plus the last week’s reward is a damage-focused version of the Nimbus device.

I like the new lockbox rewards, but the only problem is: I…NEED…KEYS!

correction: i got the krenim ship’s console and starship trait mixed up. the starship trait is the one that requires you not to use BOFF abilities, and the krenim ship’s console is actually pretty good

    Great show as usual!

I am surprised there isn’t more Armada-talk, both on air and in the feedback.

I just recently managed to get my small fleet accepted to a seemingly great armada and now the resources just keep flowing!
(ok, besides Dilithium, which was to be expected, but even *that* sometimes)

At the moment, we are sailing the Great Material Continuum full speed!
Best thing that ever happened to small fleets!

The new lockbox drop chance changes are horrible. The ship drops are non-existant. I dropped 200$ and got 1 t5 and 0 t6 ships. I ended up buying the ship off the exchange with what I made off the junk.

I am very glad to have access to overwhelming force on my rommy but I am sad it is still bugged so many months after launch.

P.s. Kam, take Geko up on his invitation to discuss torps. We must know how they are planning to fix them 🙂

Another great episode. I just want to say a couple things stemming from the interview about advanced queues. First up, and I know I sound like a corrupted digital audio file here, but they need to bump the dilithium award up to 960 like the old elites were. That missing 240 dilithium is one of the biggest things keeping me away. The other thing, and this is just a purely pedantic thing, but obviously given evolution the egg came first.

i could not be happier with the way the new lockbox turned out. i am pleased with the changes that have been made to lockbox rewards and hope that these changes will be applied to other lockboxes in the future as well as to existing ones. the krenim warship looks great and its BOFF layout appears to have a good balance between engineering and tactical abilities. this ship could be even better if it is flown by an engineering captain. these factors should make the ship itself a lot less squishy. the console for this ship is interesting, although using it means that you won’t be able to use any BOFF abilities. the Z ahl cruiser looks interesting as well. it is more engineering heavy then the krenim ship and the console for this ship is a little bit more useful then the console found on the krenim ship because the Zahl console will boost your ship’s shield capacity and regeneration rate. after picking up the krenim ship from the exchange, i plan to get the Zahl ship as well. i still hold out hope that if there can be a ferengi warship with a console that can be combined with the one from the d’kora, there will be a possibility of getting the krenim timeship from the winter event with a console which could be combined with the existing one from the krenim warship and Zahl cruiser to give us the temporal weapon as some kind of three piece bonus.
