This week, we have more details of Star Trek: Discovery’s Emmys push, and we’re talking about the biggest Star Trek news in recent history: a big shakeup of the showrunning staff at Discovery, and BRAND NEW Star Trek *maybe* in development.

In Star Trek Online and gaming news, we’re catching up on all the latest that the gaming world has to offer, and later, our science adviser Dr Robert Hurt is here with another report from the Astrometrics Lab.

Of course, as always, before we wrap up the show, we’ll open hailing frequencies for your incoming messages.

Elio is a Northern New Jersey Cuban-American and graduate of Kean University, having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance in 2011. He has performed in internationally renowned performance halls such as Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic, as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, and in Beijing, China as a representative for Kean University. Since 2012, he has had the wonderful opportunity to Executive Produce Priority One – the premiere Star Trek Online podcast. Whether recruiting, managing the global team of talented volunteers, arranging interviews with special guests, editing, web-development, finding sponsors, managing crowd funding, or writing content for the podcast, Elio has a hand in it all. A long-time Trekkie, Elio has been watching the series since he was a child and sneaking in late night, back-to-back, episodes of TNG reruns. He finally embraced the Trekdom in college and spent many hours catching up on the entire multiverse…. instead of studying.

Wonderful show everyone, not sure how i missed it.

Thanks Dr. Hurt for combining 2 of my loves, music and astronomy.

I would love a Gary Seven show, although they would have to be careful. Fox did a show Visitor that had some elements of what that could be.

Well that just shows how uncreative my brain is at the moment, I can’t think of any particular new Trek show idea that I’d want to see brought to life. 🙁 Though I’d probably be OK with ANY new Trek show, as long as it’s halfway decent. The ‘Starfleet Academy’ show idea is one that’s been shopped around for some years, and I agree with Elijah that there probably is A good way to do it; I just can’t get onboard with another ‘Gossip Girl’ teen drama…but in SPAAACE!!! (Space, space, space…) An animated series sounds a little interesting, though if it leans heavily towards a TAS-sort of storytelling, it could get really corny, REALLY quick.

If I could produce one Trek Show, I would wantt o do a show about General Martok assaulting Tzenkethi world as explained in Star Trek Online with J.G. Hertzler as Martok himself.

    Hey guys,

    Another brilliant podcast!

I would love to see the discussed diversification, but don’t have a particular type of show I’d like to see. I //would// still like to see something based in the ‘missing years’ set between the launch of the ‘B’ and ‘D’, but I’d watch whatever they make. I might have preferences, but I will (unashamedly) watch anything with Star Trek in the name, regardless of how terrible it is or who it is aimed at.

Also, I agree that the CW shows are awesome and bringing that kind of universe to Star Trek would be great, but it’s Star Trek, you can do pretty much anything within that concept! You could make a Star Trek version of Teen Wolf, or Clone Wars, or even the Teletubbies without having to work too hard at justifying it!

    IDIC!

    LL&P Guys.

As an aside, those comments about Matt Myra may have been harsh, but they were accurate. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to be nasty about somebody I’ve never met and I’m pretty sure that if I //were// to meet Matt in the flesh, I’d love him and get on really well, but he was far too eager and far too cheesy, regardless of the cause. Add to that how ‘lovey’ everyone on the show was (guests and host all) and I couldn’t even make it through the first ten minutes before it got just a little too uncomfortable. I did make it through (it has Star Trek in the name after all), but that show was really hard work at first.
