On the DOFF thing, I think there are still quite a few that are worth running for EXP, but more importantly DOFFing has a lot of value in other areas:
1. RND Materials
2. Doffs (yes doffing for doffs)
3. Contraband
4. Boffs
5. Dilithium
Especially, the dilithium is significant. Consider the following:
Recruit 5 colonists (5 dil)
Send 5 colonists out (500 dil)
Fleet dilithium mine project (500 dil)
Engineering special mission (250 dil)
Turn over contraband (2000 dil)
Assume at least 5 missions that each give 50 = (250 dil)
Just those, which are all easy to do and available right near DS9 totals to almost half your daily dilithium from doffing alone.
Add in the 5 from the academy twice a week and you’re looking at less than 5 minutes each time you log in (more on the two days you hit the academy) in exchange for lots of dilithium and gobs of EC if you sell the RND mats and free doffs from the academy.
There’s a lot more than just EXP to make Doffing worthwhile.

A lot of angst over DOFF missions that the vast majority of players are going to rarely even get. Even those posting against the change on the forums were using as their argument that the missions were rare and difficult to get. Honestly a bit disappointed you all bought into the emo on this.
But if Elijah doesn’t want to log in and spend 5 minutes queuing up free DOFF missions that will end up rewarding more Specialization points, just because a handful of DOFF missions he was probably almost never getting got nerfed, more power to him.
The STO community has too many Worfs and not enough Spocks, Datas, or Picards.

I feel like I have been out of touch for a week. Well I guess that because I was traveling…but I just couldn’t believe my ears when I heard Elijah was leaving the show. I know you will be still around and hosting a new podcast reviewing Star Trek episodes! I have no doubt that it will be excellent. I am looking for a new podcast that will review and talk about the episodes in a professional way. I have to admit while there are several podcasts to choose from that do this already, many come off as crass, crude and immature. I meant it though the other week in game, that you are the heart of priority one podcast and I will miss you as a host.
Sincerely,
Ringland

100% agree on the handling of the Doff situation. While I do *personally* care about this issue, from a PR standpoint they just handled it badly. As you said, this is an OLD “bug”; there was no rush to fix it, so they should not have changed anything until they had a replacement ready.

Good lord. I meant to say that I do NOT personally care about this issue. Whoops =P

Great show as always. Love you guys, gonna miss you Elijah and cookie too.
I find the pilot ships to be VERY fun and I don’t normally fly escorts, the mobility is awesome, but survivability will be increased greatly with the pilot specialization tree. It has many abilities that focus on defense and maneuverability like: Attack pattern Expertise, Eat My Dust, Turn the other Cheek and Scratch the Paint.
Specialization exp is WAYYYY too slow. it should be increased and I agree doffing is too much of a chore, i never even pay attention to what i’m slotting.

Did you guys see the pick that the mars lander got of the sunset, pure awesomesauce.
No torpedoes at all, that is crazy talk?
In general the game needs more exp not less, doffing or not. My first delta recruit had to sidetrack by doing and repeating the newest feature episodes to make level 60 to finish the delta missions. That is with the character at level 56.9 for mindscape.
Great show everyone.

Great show again. I just wanted to point out, that I have a lot of respect for the sound guy there. I hope that my comment (Stephen Smith) wasn’t taken as a dig at them, over the skype thing.

I totally agree with you there, Elijah.
Why are they spending attention on something that is not right for over 12 months that the player base didn’t even know about, when there is a fixes needed that the player base knows about.
Like the Khitomer ground advance has the problem of when you fail to complete the IMR optional in time, it give you the marks but no leave map timer. If you leave then you get the leave PvE penalty. Similar to the CE Adv during the Crystalline Event. That has been there since Delta Rising
