How to make mines useful?
Make them usable in a device slot. Much like the device turrets. They will not take up a weapon slot.

Oh my goodness! What a great episode! Between the news from Star Trek Discovery and from Star Trek Online, the next three months will be very exciting!
In Star Trek Online, I think what I am most excited about is the Fleet Colony (even if it is going to consume resources). It seemed to me that they were borrowing many of the features and mechanics from Neverwinter’s Guild Stronghold holding, which I love! The one mechanic I hope that they keep which was not mentioned is that in Neverwinter you have the ability to “craft” some of the resources which you donate to the holding, rather than having to give up your hard-earned time-based currencies.
