136Hello Captains and welcome to Priority One’s 136th episode, recorded on Thursday,  July 18th, 2013 and published on Monday, July 22nd, 2013 at PriorityOnePodcast.com!!!

This week we have a fearsome foursome as we’re joined by the one and only Adrianne Grady joining James, Elijah and Tony as they bring you all the latest from Cryptic Studios, literally! In Trek It Out, we look at  how the classic Star Trek Control panel can become a Do-It-Yourself project. In STO News we bring you our highlights of the Cryptic tour plus some brief discussions of the latest news hitting Star Trek Online, including an STO Podcast blog by our good friend MidniteShadow7,  part 2 of TeriLynn’s Captain’s Log article and Legacy of Romulus Dev Blog #32 (the improvements to the Carrier Command Interface). Next we put thrusters to full as we interview Star Trek Online’s Executive Producer Daniel Stahl! As always, we’ll close the show by opening hailing frequencies and reviewing your incoming messages!

Elio is a Northern New Jersey Cuban-American and graduate of Kean University, having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance in 2011. He has performed in internationally renowned performance halls such as Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic, as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, and in Beijing, China as a representative for Kean University. Since 2012, he has had the wonderful opportunity to Executive Produce Priority One – the premiere Star Trek Online podcast. Whether recruiting, managing the global team of talented volunteers, arranging interviews with special guests, editing, web-development, finding sponsors, managing crowd funding, or writing content for the podcast, Elio has a hand in it all. A long-time Trekkie, Elio has been watching the series since he was a child and sneaking in late night, back-to-back, episodes of TNG reruns. He finally embraced the Trekdom in college and spent many hours catching up on the entire multiverse…. instead of studying.

I found Priority One because I Googled “STO podcast” back when STOked went off the air.

The problem with the new carrier UI is that it’s a little buggy with certain pets, like Birds of Prey. Once they get the kinks worked out of the system, it’ll be a great improvement to carriers.

    Thanks for the awesome podcast!

If you ever get a chance to do an interview, maybe ask these questions:

1.) Will the Crystalline Event, the 50k Dilithium and 1k Fleet Marks reward, ever come back?

2.) Is there a possibility we could have an “advanced” controls system option? Like be able to roll our ships, do loops and just overall fly in a more three dimensional fashion?

Crafting was brought up in the Al Rivera interview in a supplemental post. I think be cool if they introduce professions to the game. Picard was an archaeologist and later ambassador , Janeway some kind of a Scientist, Sisko was involve in starship development at Utopia Planitia.
So if your an engineer you can specialize in engineering or operations. From there you can specialize based on you being ops or eng to get bonus traits and perks on crafting. Maybe OPs can increase the performance of engine for more speed. Engines can build additional console slot or better battery packs. Just some thoughts

I wouldn’t jump ship, yet. If you listen to us often, then you know we frequently have STO Devs on our show. There will be other opportunities to address player concerns.

Be sure to stay attentive to our posts on the STO Forums asking for community submitted questions.

Not a sigle question about PVP, I think this is the last time I waste time with you guys.

    • MidNiteShadow7 on 2013-07-25

Well they’ve just started to plan out story content for the next year or so from what has been said.

PvP was not the only thing that was not mentioned as neither was the Foundry or crafting.

Just because that things like these were not mentioned does not mean that they are not being discussed or even planned yet.

For all we know there are some Dev Blogs planned to address these things!

All we can do is wait and hope!… but hold in there, I’m sure we’ll get it all eventually!

This is why the Next Generation Gaming Fleet loves MidniteShadow7! Always in the know, always on the go!
