We have an exciting show this week, so James, Elijah and Tony decide to skip Trek it out and get right into STO news because there is a BUNCH of it: The new Obelisk Carrier, Featured Episode Replay event, Dev Blogs up the wazoo, Free Lobi, Season 8 official release date, Dyson Joint Command reputation and so much more! If that wasn’t enough STO goodness we then sit down with Cryptic Content Designer Kate Bankson to go behind the scenes of the just-released Featured Episode “Sphere of Influence.” before finally opening Hailing Frequencies and listening to your incoming messages!

Elio is a Northern New Jersey Cuban-American and graduate of Kean University, having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance in 2011. He has performed in internationally renowned performance halls such as Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic, as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, and in Beijing, China as a representative for Kean University. Since 2012, he has had the wonderful opportunity to Executive Produce Priority One – the premiere Star Trek Online podcast. Whether recruiting, managing the global team of talented volunteers, arranging interviews with special guests, editing, web-development, finding sponsors, managing crowd funding, or writing content for the podcast, Elio has a hand in it all. A long-time Trekkie, Elio has been watching the series since he was a child and sneaking in late night, back-to-back, episodes of TNG reruns. He finally embraced the Trekdom in college and spent many hours catching up on the entire multiverse…. instead of studying.

I am a little confuse. You get Kate on. Talk about the sphere and how awesome the graphics were etc. And then you say we need STO 2.0?

If they can wow your socks off STILL after this long I would say we can hold off from the new version.

Thanks for spending time and giving quality feed-back on my previous question re STO 2.0/new game engine. Awesome. We listened and heatedly debated it further back here.

To sum up ep 148; Kate is Kool 🙂

    Another show well done.

Can’t comment further, off to vote for you guys.

The changes to the reputation system seem like an improvement on paper, but I won’t be able to say if it feels like less of a grind until I play it.

Booooo, Arc Launcher. Don’t make it mandatory. Just say no to bloatware.

I agree with Elijah about the graphics of STO. I play on a 6 year old computer, so I greatly appreciate that STO can actually run on my computer. Most new games can’t.

Ok I had a question, I heard you guys talking about a reward making it into Sphere of influence by accident. Were you talking about the advanced swarmers or something else cause I got the advanced swarmers.

Awesome episode guys. Many thanks to Kate for the interview.
