109Hello Captains! Welcome to a very merry Episode 109 of Priority One, broadcast live on TrekRadio.net on Thursday, December 20th, 2012 shortly before the end of the world, and published Christmas Eve 2012 (that’s Monday 24th December for those extra-terrestrials who find this message floating in space once our planet is long gone) on PriorityOnePodcast.com!!!

In this episode’s Blank of the Week we sit down and have a good chat with Brandon Felczer, Community Manager for Star Trek Online, and Sargon, creator of the PvP Bootcamp we highlighted on last weeks show, then we run head-on into this week’s STO News where we discuss December’s “Ask Cryptic”, Episode One of “On Screen”, STO’s quarterly community show about current events in Star Trek Online, Dilithium 101 (a monthly guide on how to get the best bang for your crystal) and the return of the Temporal Lockbox. Finally, we open up hailing frequencies for your feedback.

Remember, Captains, all the submissions we receive for our show will be entered into this month’s random drawing for 1,000 ZEN — this includes comments on our website and emailed segment topics!

The Hurricane Sandy relief efforts still need your help! If you’re able to, please, donate to one of the causes below.

He has performed in internationally renowned performance halls such as Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic, as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, and in Beijing, China as a representative for Kean University. Since 2012, he has had the wonderful opportunity to Executive Produce Priority One – the premiere Star Trek Online podcast. Whether recruiting, managing the global team of talented volunteers, arranging interviews with special guests, editing, web-development, finding sponsors, managing crowd funding, or writing content for the podcast, Elio has a hand in it all. A long-time Trekkie, Elio has been watching the series since he was a child and sneaking in late night, back-to-back, episodes of TNG reruns. He finally embraced the Trekdom in college and spent many hours catching up on the entire multiverse…. instead of studying.

    Great episode.
The PVP and Hilbert stuff was great. Good read.
As a casual player though, I’ll never do PVP. Mostly because to be effective you have to have end game gear. Since I only have a hour or so a few days a week, and maybe a few on the weekend, I’ll never get the 10s of thousands of Dil to buy the end game Mk XII weapons. Until they tier the PvP, I’ll pass. I enjoy PvP, but I’m not going to stress over being the best… and yet dying isn’t fun over and over. Not because my ship sucks… but compared to the other hard core PvPers, it does suck. So, I’ll stick with PvE 🙂

There was a mention of the Hibbert guide? Was this just for key bindings or does it cover space/ground tactics?

You guys have to talk about the Romulan Hyper-Plasma Torpedo Launcher, I’ve had it since the last patch and I’m still discovering new ways in which this thing is awesome.
For example, this launcher fires three destructible plasma torpedoes as normal attack, and if their target is destroyed before they reach it they’ll often autonomously seek out new target. Today in Beta Thoridor I saw three of these stray torpedoes fly away from the battlefield, detonated in what I thought was empty space, until a cloaked Bird of Prey decloak and explodes. With no anti-cloaking measure from me these things hunted down and destroyed a cloaked ship on their own.

Streamlining the Healing/repairing UI is all nice and well, but I miss the days when people can heal/repair other player’s character/ship. A few hundred EC is a small price to pay for the opportunity to wag my finger at under prepared PuGs.
