Elio is a Northern New Jersey Cuban-American and graduate of Kean University, having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance in 2011. He has performed in internationally renowned performance halls such as Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic, as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, and in Beijing, China as a representative for Kean University. Since 2012, he has had the wonderful opportunity to Executive Produce Priority One – the premiere Star Trek Online podcast. Whether recruiting, managing the global team of talented volunteers, arranging interviews with special guests, editing, web-development, finding sponsors, managing crowd funding, or writing content for the podcast, Elio has a hand in it all. A long-time Trekkie, Elio has been watching the series since he was a child and sneaking in late night, back-to-back, episodes of TNG reruns. He finally embraced the Trekdom in college and spent many hours catching up on the entire multiverse…. instead of studying.

    Awesome show guys 🙂

With the Short Treks, I’m with Elijah. It’s definitely not worth paying $60– err, $40 to access one tiny episode a month for four months. Looks like it’s time to raise the black sails for me!

I’d love to see Rosario Dawson in the new Picard series, but if she plays a klingon I *really* hope she doesn’t end up being a relative of the other Dawson klingon. James McAvoy? Ehhhh… Kinda feels like he would’ve tweeted that response regardless of if it were a Star Trek show or not, and therefore he’s just riding his X-Men fame as long as possible.

Rosario Dawson has some good acting creds, she could be a great Klingon or anything else the writers could come up with in Trek. As far as James McAvoy vs. CGI Young Patrick Stewart/Jean-Luc Picard, I’d think there would be some limits to how that ‘de-aging’ tech works anyways; for instance, it wouldn’t exactly fit to have a CGI TOS-era Shatner/Kirk with old Shatner’s voice coming out of him. So depending on how young Picard is supposed to be in a specific story (maybe 30+ years younger than Stewart/Picard is now), McAvoy could be the better choice.

More Discovery content in STO sounds good, an adventure with Tilly especially, and the Reputation revamp could be interesting. (Though I wish that the account-wide sponsorship instead just auto finished those Reps on subsequent characters; 8-9 weeks of grinding per Rep HAS to be enough ‘return-on-investment’, right?) And if all goes well with Age of Discovery numbers wise, then maybe down the road CBS will see fit to tie-in the new Picard show stuff with STO as well, including possibly some voiceover from Sir Patrick Stew himself!!! (So play nice Disco bashers, or no Picard for you! :p )

Should The Untitled Picard Series Cast Rosario Dawson and/or James McAvoy? Sure cast Rosario Dawson. I would object to James McAvoy as a younger Picard. I would think Tom Hardy would be better since he was a clone of Picard in Star Trek Nemesis. That would be a better connection than James McAvoy. If we were talking another X-Men movie my position would be in favor of McAvoy instead of Hardy.
