I honestly would really like to see a Shatner directed episode. I know it’s kind of hit or miss with Bill but it has potential to push Discovery back toward the Star Trek we all love.
I kind of like the idea of exploring the Gamma Quadrant, that said, I’ve never been a big fan of Jem’Hadar. The gravel headed lizard people……

Wonderful show everyone.
cq1) I second all of Jim De Vico’s comments on this.
cq2) I think this was a superb episode, very nicely done.

Not sure on directors. I recollect most of the episodes directed by regular Trek actors being alright, Frakes and whatnot. Can’t think of anyone else that stands out, at least from the casual TV watcher perspective.
As far as “Renegade’s Regret” goes, I liked the idea of playing from another character’s perspective (though something about Neth Parr’s 4 arms flailing about while running around reminded me of a Muppet). Nothing in the gameplay itself felt particularly innovative (for all I know under-the-hood that could well be a different story), but the concept of sometimes putting ourselves in other characters’ shoes was cool. I’d be interested in seeing that mechanic return in future missions (sparingly).
On a side note, in the mission’s (new) Security Office on Deep Space 9, I believe most of the folks on the wanted boards are the senior officers of the U.S.S. Pathfinder, including Captain Thomas Marrone. HE’S IN CLUB 47 ON EARTH SPACEDOCK! GET HIM!!! :p

To me, who directs isn’t as important as who writes. I’d rather see a DC Fontana, Ron Moore or Michael Piller script come to life. If I have to stick to directors, then I suppose I’d like to see what directors like Tarantino, Joss Whedon or Tom Hanks could do with it. I want a director who is a fan first. I’m looking at you, JJ.
