This week, we’re Trekking Out what could be Nvidia’s answer to the Holodeck, what scientists are doing to try and design a real-life deflector shield, and where you can see some great cast reunion pics from Deep Space Nine.

In Star Trek Online news, there’s new content available on Xbox One and Playstation 4, and we’re getting excited over the new Miracle Worker ship mega-bundle.

Later, our science adviser Dr Robert Hurt is here talking about the EPIC new discovery of gravitational waves, and finally we’ll be jumping on THAT F-bomb and more, in our review of the latest episode of Star Trek Discovery.

And as always, before we wrap up the show, we’ll open hailing frequencies for your incoming messages.

A long-time Trekkie, Elio has been watching the series since he was a child and sneaking in late night, back-to-back, episodes of TNG reruns. He finally embraced the Trekdom in college and spent many hours catching up on the entire multiverse…. instead of studying.

Loved the show. Thanks as usual to Dr Hurt.

For me buying ships goes like this: I get the romulan ones, skip the fed only(unless its a new variant of 1-3 types), and only get the full faction packs if i feel my kdf need theirs. I did indeed get the Miracle Worker 9 ship pack, and i like them as cruisers.

The last ship I bought, was the Temporal Battlecruiser – Paladin Class. Then I have the Eclipse Intel Cruiser, Fed Command Battlecruiser and T6 Cross Faction Cruiser packs. So falling back on those, and the freebie ships…just never felt that I had to buy any more after that.

The new Miracle Worker ships are somewhat enticing–although I’d probably just grab the Fed pack (my Rom-Fed toon is gathering dust, and I don’t play KDF).

End of August, I FINALLY got my T6 Vesta Pack! WEEEE I is Happy Captain! Although, I feel that most T6’s that don’t have a fleet mode should have gotten a 12th console slot. all 6 T5/T6 Vesta consoles with decent gear would be an amazing setup.

The last ship I bought was the Tier 6 Intel Sovereign, which I had been waiting for since Delta Rising launched in 2014. I’m currently waiting for the Tier 6 Ambassador and Andorian Escort.

One thing that would encourage me to buy more ships would be if they’d let us promote our bridge officers to captains and put them in command of our other ships (aka. the Away team in space). Now THAT would add value to ship bundles. And think of the money Cryptic would make when everybody had 5 ships worth of gear to upgrade to mark 14 per character instead of one.
