Elio is a Northern New Jersey Cuban-American and graduate of Kean University, having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance in 2011. He has performed in internationally renowned performance halls such as Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic, as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, and in Beijing, China as a representative for Kean University. Since 2012, he has had the wonderful opportunity to Executive Produce Priority One – the premiere Star Trek Online podcast. Whether recruiting, managing the global team of talented volunteers, arranging interviews with special guests, editing, web-development, finding sponsors, managing crowd funding, or writing content for the podcast, Elio has a hand in it all. A long-time Trekkie, Elio has been watching the series since he was a child and sneaking in late night, back-to-back, episodes of TNG reruns. He finally embraced the Trekdom in college and spent many hours catching up on the entire multiverse…. instead of studying.

My theory about the galactic barrier and Iconian madness was destroyed by the Preserver… oh well, the speculation was fun while it lasted.

My experiences and thoughts with Season 10 so far:

In terms of game play and not cut scenes, I was not impressed with the Heralds as I fought them on the surface of New Romulus. As I fought them I thought to myself, “These guys are a bunch of sissies, why are we scared of them?” Then I reached the cavern with the Iconian gate and faced the Harbinger… two boffs and myself were knocked out with the first attack…

“Magnificent desolation.” Those words said by Buzz Aldrin stepping on the moon came to mind when I viewed the new Quadrant Space (Sector Space just seems to be an inadequate term now). Space is vast, there is a lot of emptiness between objects, at Warp 9 it would take 27 hours to get from Sol to Alpha Centauri, the closest star system and Quadrant Space better reflects that wonderful vastness.

Turning on the astrometrics, pointing the camera down, and turning off the UI, it feels like I am standing on a floor that is also a view screen.

If Cryptic was to go back to Sector Space, I would feel cramped and uncomfortable.

Now for some not so good experiences. I’ve seen some weird character placement and heard overlapping music tracks in some of the new episode cut scenes. The game crashed several times while playing the episode “Out in the Cold.”

My biggest complaint, outside of the two episodes and queues, it does not feel like we are in a war with an overwhelming foe. I think there should be little reminders scattered throughout Quadrant Space to remind us when are in a desperate struggle. Maybe some Iconian Red Alerts to go with the Borg Red Alerts.

Speaking of player created videos, I would recommend some videos found here: https://www.youtube.com/user/1701Starfish

    Greetings Priority One Team-
The show just keeps getting better and better; I can’t imagine playing this game without it. Thanks for all your efforts. The prelude dramas are quite entertaining but I have one concern; what is going on with Dr. Cakes. One episode she is an exceptional medical officer administering Medical Tricorder III with one hand and laying down phaser cover with the other. Yet in a previous episode, she was, main-lining nerve tonic. Is she the Nurse Jackie of STO? Not sure the preludes were meant to intertwine in that way, but it’s kinda funny to think about. Thanks again for making such a great podcast!

Hehe, two separate characters. One is a Doctor aboard the USS Prioritas and one is … not. haha!
