I think that making the Advanced queues optional conditions truly optional is a good move. This will open avenues to rare crafting materials that weren’t accessible to players before.

About the only “bad” thing about this change I have seen so far is that now there are no true “fail” conditions, more and more self purported, snobby STO elitest jerks will have to be placed on ignore lists for making crappy, unwarranted comments to those players who aren’t spec’d out wallet-wise or gear-wise for max DPS, haven’t run the STF’s in a long time or have forgotten their flow, or just aren’t cool enough in their eyes.

*I recently found a show on netflix that I found ROTFL funny. I tried telling several people about it “ingame” and they all knew about it . “the Guild”. I am admittedly new to MMO gaming and yet feel like the crowd that plays them “civily” are my long lost missing piece”family”,so when I say ROTFL it is at myself and fleeties “guildies” at how acuratley this show depicted the lingo and level of adiction I personally have experienced playing this game. Call me a Nerd I “love” it and dont care. I must say I binge watched the whole show and now feel sad and empty lol However I think anyone who has not seen it would enjoy it and Will Wheaton is in it too.

    Nice show.

I liked how you mentioned Ezri Ryan’s youtube show on keybinds and piloting. I found it a couple days before I listened to this podcast. I’m already putting some of what he says into practice. I think the Delta Recruitment event will be good not only for the bonus rewards but is also an oppurtinity for us to create new toons and relearn our piloting skills. (I am used to using the mouse to activate my abilities).

On your community question, I am not sure I really like what they are doing to advanced queues. I am okay with how the rewards will work. I do not like that the failure condition will be removed.

One of the nice things about the failure condition is that if you get stuck in a bad PUG, there is a way out without having to endure an early leaver penalty. An example would be Crystalline Catastrophe where everyone is so focused on the shards that the Entity’s health slowly rises from 30 to 60 percent.

More importantly, I think it lessens the victory. You can’t fail, you can’t lose. You lost the experience of cheating death. I’m okay with Normal having no failure conditions, but for Advanced, its supposed to be advanced, harder, more difficult and when you when, victory should taste sweeter, not just because you got a better reward but because you cheated death.

Was Porch talking about My Little Pony in the background of the intro skit? or just tossing out random non-sequitors? Either way, loved that intro, cheers to all the DPS people.

Hehehe! That was actually RyanSTO that said that… they were discussing something in the secret DPS language.
