A fascinating discussion is definitely worth comment.

I believe that you need to publish more about this subject, it might not be
a taboo subject but generally folks don’t discuss such topics.
    To the next! Many thanks!!

I am really concern about the Delta event. I think its great i think its alt friendly but the facebook and forms are crazy negative.

It has even drove some friends i’ve been trying to get it to the game away.

Its very clear from the comments that people have not read the article or not understood what was written.

I feel that events like this are need for new blood in the game and giving everyone something for leveling a FREE toon and alot REWARDS and DIL rewards ACCOUNT WIDE is an amazing thing!

Another awesome show. I wholeheartedly agree with Sanokskyrat and Jayce. I too own a fair number of lockbox, c store, and fleet level ships including the JHAS and my prized Galor class cruiser. It pains me daily to see the ships that took a fair amount of time and resources to acquire and outfit, become more and more obsolete with each new content patch. Whether or not Cryptic realizes it, tier 5U ships are slowly but surely being mothballed. I understand that the game must progress else it becomes stagnant and that a main source of their revenue does come from ship sales.

In my opinion, I feel that Cryptic would have been more successful had they done a revamp of the ship system starting at tier 5U versus just creating another, higher tier. Ships, and their base stats (i.e. hull points, turn rate, shield modifier, unique console equipabliity, starship traits, etc) and weapon slots would remain proprietary to the respective ships. The BOFF stations, console slots, and mastery trait would be determined by a “kit”. This new type of “starship kit” system would accomplish a lot of positive things. One example would be opening up additional sources of revenue for Cryptic, by giving the playerbase more purchasing options. I might not want to pay thirty dollars for a complete ship when I only want the mastery trait, but more willing to pay say fifteen dollars for the “kit” that would give me access to that trait. This has the additional bonus that I can continue to progress the ship that I love to fly and not feel that it is being made obsolete by the progression of the game.

Great show as always. Laughed harder than I should have when Cookie told Dr. Hurt (Great guest as always) her saying “Pluto is a dwarf planet” was a closing statement, not a question. Good stuff.

The new bug ship doesn’t get my motor running, so to speak. I generally run a tank-ish beam boat. Tac escort with a cannon trait is an easy pass, thankfully. I feel for the folks that have their eye on one, though. It’s an expensive endeavor.

I personally didn’t find much lure to get the T6 Bug ship.

For one, I was never a fan of the bug ship. I’ve always felt that it was a double standard to have this kind of frigate available for play at endgame.

I mean, as NPCs, they’re trivial threats. It’s a double standard. I mean, we could be having Tier 6 Mirandas (Merian-class, anyone? 😀 )

But aside from my personal preference not really finding appeal to the ship, the stats are close enough to the T5U Fleet Tempest for me not to mind overmuch. The specialization seats are nothing huge. And the trait is lackluster enough to not replace most of the traits I currently have on hand.

Basically, I’ve no reason to get it. The ship model isn’t “not nice”, but it just makes me feel they ought to have had spent that Dev time on something else (Luna-refit, Luna-refit, Luna-refit…)

As some one who both had a fleet voyager and a Bug ship i find a bitter taste in my mouth.

I get that its a business and they can not give away all these free ship.

But i find myself being a little bitter however. Just doesnt fell good.

@Elijah: in response to your comments about people not rewatching episodes, and by comparison not replaying episodes; the fact is, different people have different preferences, and there is nothing wrong with that. If you do not enjoy rewatching the same episodes more than once, that’s fine. But if someone else does, that is also fine. Likewise, if you do not enjoy replaying the same episode in game more than once, that is fine. But if someone else does, that is also fine, and their time is not worth less than your time just because they have a different preference.

Also, how many times have you played the same patrol, or PvE queue, or STF? More times than you can count, I’m guessing. But I doubt you think you should get less rewards after the first play. All of that said, whether you or I or anyone else enjoy playing the same episode over and over is actually irrelevant, because based on the devs’ own statement we should be getting ‘similar rewards based on similar time investment, *regardless* of the content we choose to play’. Therefore I can only hope they will either “fix” the reward imbalance, or make a new statement explaining the current contradiction, like Jayce mentioned in his comments.

Anyway, I enjoyed the show and thanks for considering my comments.

Nagus – of course “people have different preferences” — Note that this time I didn’t say, “I speak for the silent majority.” No matter what anyone ever says, there will always be a contrasting opinion. I’m very well aware of that.

Perhaps my comments will inspire the Content Team to take a look back and better incentivise mission re-play.

    • Elijah on 2015-03-09

Seriously Nagus — I know you like to deconstruct EVERY word that comes out of my mouth — But, you were WAY off this time and completely took my words way out of context. I encourage you to re-listen to that section of Feedback. I never eluded to the idea that the missions should remain with a low-payout. On the ABSOLUTE contrary… I suggested that Dilithium isn’t enough to incentivize replay and that items should be ADDED.

I compared it to watching series repeats because it was the closest illustration I could paint. I have to be in a mood to rewatch specific TV episodes. I suggested they should reward more to get me in the mood to replay but, that Dilithium isn’t enough.
