Wow Delta Rising! I honestly can’t wait! I miss playing through the mission content with my main toon (second time is never the same) and I’m hoping that there will be plenty of mission content as Al suggested. The images that I have seen of the interior of the Intrepid/Voyager look amazing, but I do hope that the Odyssey will get a bit of love along these lines. My hope is that there will be some kind of tier 6 or tier 6 upgrade for the Oddy as it is the flagship class of the Federation. Sure the Enterprise can’t be a tier 5 ship?

Just throwing in a few bits and thoughts about the Crafting System.
Things that i dislike is that still refined Dilithium is part of R&D this is a artifical roadeblock to a Crafter that should not be.
Rolling total randomised Item mods in addition to have ponyup Dili isn’t a real tease to jump on it aswell.
What i like is the addition of Unique mods and procs for now atleast exclusive to Crafting Items.
One thing tho that made me think most people are a little tunnelvisioned is the aspect of locking you out if you want to specialise in Crafting people should realise that in Other MMO you do it as a One Person Job.
In STO you got a Full Crew of Hundreds of Personal that is doing the actual Research it is not the Player Charachter so a no limit system as it is now makes sense and should not be changed.
Anyway loved the show still do but please sometimes i get the fealing the tenor is because we like it or we don’t like it everyone else should do aswell.
Keep up the good work and keep on podcasting.

As it stands now, I’m looking forward to Delta Rising. It should be interesting to see how the thing with tier 5 ships and mark xii gear not being made obsolete will work. I’m not sure I’m crazy about the tier 6 cruiser they showed but we didn’t get the best look at it so will hold off judgement there till we see more. I’m curious to see what the new class of BOFF is going to be, it could be as simple as splitting something like operations away from engineering, but doubt that. Am looking forward to October that’s for sure

Love the special edition intro, guys… You should keep it!

sounds good to me i love more story missions as for the lvl cap new ships and gears that does not bother me or make me stop useing what i have been i came from a game called final fantasy 11 where with every lvl cap came new gear. but that never made the old gear obsolete.

(On Delta Rising) I’m gonna stay a bit on the fence right now until I see the blogs. They can paint pretty pictures with words but until they back those up with proof…

I want to be clear as to what I think is wrong with the crafting systems. It’s the time sink involved to master just one school, on the time budget that I have.
And for comparison, in WOW, I can master my two professions (the schools) as I level. They keep pace with the leveling process. And I can usually level a character in about 4 months right now.
STO I can level my character faster than I can even hope to level one school to 15, let alone 20.
This needs to change to either have crafting level in pace with leveling, or for one school being able to max out in about 60 days.
Delta Rising sounds to be a good expansion. I look forward to the blogs that will detail out more information. And I agree that the best way to deal with power creep is to relevel the playing field. If everything is tooled to a Tier 6 ship with mark XIV gear on it, then the power creep will be slowed or killed and the bar is raised on co-operative play.

Grate show guys,
I’ve been listening since STO went FTP. Never disappointing.
Anyway I think that, like with any Cryptic update, we should be thrilled, but careful.
New story stuff sounds cool bu with the level cap incress we need to be aware that more work might be needed for all our endgame stuff.
sanokskyrat on 2014-08-04
My views on crafting is changed. I really love the fact you can research and leave it come back and then come back and make purple gear. BUT if it was true about being a “master crafter” then why lose the crafting research from one school. I not sure you can have it both ways.
As for the “Delta Rising” OMFG! This is so awesome. Voyager was one of my fav’s and I always wanted to know what happened after Voy left.
Only wish it was here now! Devs. Shut up and take my money! (BUT I WILL BE MAYBE NOT BUYING THE NEW SHIPS AS THERE MOSTLY LOCKED BOXES)
