Elio is a Northern New Jersey Cuban-American and graduate of Kean University, having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance in 2011. He has performed in internationally renowned performance halls such as Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic, as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, and in Beijing, China as a representative for Kean University. Since 2012, he has had the wonderful opportunity to Executive Produce Priority One – the premiere Star Trek Online podcast. Whether recruiting, managing the global team of talented volunteers, arranging interviews with special guests, editing, web-development, finding sponsors, managing crowd funding, or writing content for the podcast, Elio has a hand in it all. A long-time Trekkie, Elio has been watching the series since he was a child and sneaking in late night, back-to-back, episodes of TNG reruns. He finally embraced the Trekdom in college and spent many hours catching up on the entire multiverse…. instead of studying.

My feelings on a “Callister” TV show are the same as they were the last time the idea came up; it’s a nice thought I guess, but it doesn’t have enough meat in its core setting to go very far. So they’re basically sentient video game characters roaming around a video game, right? So either they just stay in video game land forever doing knockoff Star Trek things (which I guess is what folks want?), or they try to find a way to leave and transition into the real world, which…well, creates some problems. (And Westworld is doing that theme better anyways. 🙂 ) Ultimately I think it’s one of those ideas that sounds good until you actually try to flesh it out.

On the events over at CBS…Oy boy. My hope is that Moonves’ departure doesn’t negatively impact Star Trek’s resurgence in any way; correct me if I’m wrong, but from past Trek news my impression has been that Moonves was a key champion in bringing the franchise back to the forefront of CBS’ efforts, so hopefully there are still enough ‘big wigs’ around at the network with a passion for Star Trek to keep its momentum alive.

In response to your community question: Yes, I absolutely would watch it but I would be worried about stretching a good story too far. If I am honest, I do share in concern with yall. It was very uncomfortable to have my lifestyle portrayed in such a dark and gruesome manner; however, it does give us an opportunity to look closely at the potential dangers of this personality type. Maybe that could be the sequel, an episodic examination into the different personality types at there worst.

    Wonderful show everyone.

cq1) I would love a callister show, but without the original captain.
cq2) If he did the crime, he sould do the time.
