Later, Jake and Cookie are here with some holiday gift ideas on The Promenade.

And as always, before we wrap up the show, we’ll open hailing frequencies for your incoming messages.

There’s no Star Trek Online news this week, which we can only apologize for… But we’ll be back next week with all the latest gaming news…and in the meantime, you can busy yourself in Q’s Winter Wonderland, which starts this weekend in Star Trek Online.

Elio is a Northern New Jersey Cuban-American and graduate of Kean University, having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance in 2011. He has performed in internationally renowned performance halls such as Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic, as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, and in Beijing, China as a representative for Kean University. Since 2012, he has had the wonderful opportunity to Executive Produce Priority One – the premiere Star Trek Online podcast. Whether recruiting, managing the global team of talented volunteers, arranging interviews with special guests, editing, web-development, finding sponsors, managing crowd funding, or writing content for the podcast, Elio has a hand in it all. A long-time Trekkie, Elio has been watching the series since he was a child and sneaking in late night, back-to-back, episodes of TNG reruns. He finally embraced the Trekdom in college and spent many hours catching up on the entire multiverse…. instead of studying.

I sincerely hope Tarantino does not do a Star Trek movie. That would be awful. The JJ reboots are already a shame to the franchise. Tarantino would be even worse.

Star Trek has influenced my life by providing me hopeful visions not just of humanity’s future, but also criticisms of the way our society treats people like me. Like Spock, I have always been unlike everyone around me because of how I was born and how I think and feel, and I have faced constant scorn and ostracism because of it. Star Trek showed me that a better life for me is possible, that our society could be better and is wrong to hurt people like me. This is something the JJ reboots and Discovery have failed to do, while they focus instead on escapist entertainment.

    Wonderful show everyone.

I like the idea of QT writing, not sure i want as much blood as him directing would result in.

It has introduced me to many cool and interesting people.

YOu’d be amased at how much stra trek influences life in general. When the world seems to have lsot it’s top, gone mad, gone crazy, Star trek for all it’s wisdom in it’s writing helps give a glimpse, to me at least, of a peaceful world where we’ll all get along. Merry Cristmas Priority One Podcast, Happy Chanukkah and a Merry New Year~!

I haven’t responded to a Pod in a long time and thought it was about time I got off my arse and wrote something, so…

I think Quentin Tarantino would be a great addition to another Trek film. I knew he was a fan of Trek anyway, and I think he could bring some great stories to life. Also: HAH! The idea of Bryan Fuller and Quentin Tarantino working together on a Trek film went through my head the first time I heard about this.

“Hell yeah! Baow!” (Yes, I actually wrote it in).

As for CQ2: Star Trek is a fundamental part of who I am, it has affected everything about me, from my choice of subjects at school to what and how I read and the music I listen to. As a gay man, and one that has suffered from severe depression from a very young age, Star Trek has also been a beacon of hope and positivity that I have sorely needed on occasion. Be it dealing with everyday homophobia, or the crushing despair of my darker moments, Star Trek has been one of the constants that gets me by; I’m still here, I still love Star Trek and that’s got to count for something. Trek hasn’t just influenced me, to a very great degree, it /is/ me.
