Elio is a Northern New Jersey Cuban-American and graduate of Kean University, having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance in 2011. He has performed in internationally renowned performance halls such as Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic, as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, and in Beijing, China as a representative for Kean University. Since 2012, he has had the wonderful opportunity to Executive Produce Priority One – the premiere Star Trek Online podcast. Whether recruiting, managing the global team of talented volunteers, arranging interviews with special guests, editing, web-development, finding sponsors, managing crowd funding, or writing content for the podcast, Elio has a hand in it all. A long-time Trekkie, Elio has been watching the series since he was a child and sneaking in late night, back-to-back, episodes of TNG reruns. He finally embraced the Trekdom in college and spent many hours catching up on the entire multiverse…. instead of studying.

    I do agree that the asking price is what’s keeping more people from adopting VR. However, a few people who reviewed STBC stated it was the best VR game put out thus far. This game is what caused to get off the fence and plunk down the $450 for the Playstation VR core unit and the STBC game. I’m hopeful they continue to develop and sell game packs as I will happily buy them. After 7+ years of mediocre STO, I’m ready for any other ST game to make a dent in this genre.

    On the subject of Star Trek: Discovery;

    I have a theory that CBS knew about the upcoming controversy when an adult-based star trek series was announced. In fact, they knew it a good 7 years prior!

    CBS had a long running series that spawned 5 spin-offs, but we will be concerned with the main one (said series was CSI: Crime Scene Investigation). During season 9, they aired an episode titled “A Space Oddity” (Episode #20, April 16, 2009). Very briefly, the episode revolved around the investigation of a murder at a sci-fi convention after the announcement of a beloved sci-fi series being rebooted for modern day audiences.

    I can’t speak for anyone else, but I see some parallels between the written episode and the public outcry we are witnessing today. I’m just thankful that nobody has been killed (at least, nobody that I know of).

    Wonderful show everyone, Thanks Ryon for visiting.

    I love all of the public events for lol favors.Normally i just run my main the whole time for everything, but this year he doesnt need any marks. Instead i will run him for the ship and have one or 2 others actually breed animals. I may also need one of the new pets.

    Just wanted to make a quick comment about your assessment of the Enterprise series being mediocre except for season 4. I beg to differ. I though the Xindi story arc in season 3 was phenomenal and explored a myriad of issues including trust, racism and honor. Granted these types of issues aren’t new to the “Trek” universe but I still felt as if the Xindi story arc was done (for the most part) very well and in a way that made characters like Gralik and Degra very compelling. Honestly if it wasn’t for the Xindi storyline I may never have finished the series. Season 4 was garbage by comparison 🙂 Keep up the good work on the podcast! I’m a new listener as of today (June 8th, 2017) and I’ll try and stick with you guys. I also play STO so getting updates on that in addition to general “Trek” news is awesome.
