    (1) What would YOU like to see as the second series in an anthology-type Star Trek show?

I would love to see a TNG reunion, especially since Nemesis was so bad. We are approaching the 30th Anniversary of TNG, and we are around the time that the “future” in All Good Things was suppose to take place. I think it is time for Q to pop in and visit Picard again. The technology is there now to have John de Lancie breifly appear as his younger self, and then as his current age to make Picard feel more comfortable.

    (2) How would you like to see Star Trek Online be represented on screen, or, have it influenced by the series?

Assuming the series lasts a few seasons, I would like one of seasons to focus on the crew of the Enterprise-F with Captain Shon. It would be a great way to lead up to the launch of STO Season 14, or whatever season we will be on at that time.

    (3) And from our On Screen segment: Do you think Angel One had too many stories going on? What were the Romulans doing in the Neutral Zone?

Yeah, I guess so. I looked at the Romulans and the virus stories as a story-and-a-half. The Romulans were suppose to add urgency, but that same urgency could have been provided solely by the pending execution of the Odin survivors.

As for the Romulans specifically, in this story they were probably doing nothing, and I doubt there was any thought behind them other than as a threat. However, would could retcon a rationale for the Romulans in this episode by looking at The Next Generation’s Season 1 finale, The Neutral Zone. I won’t mention anything else about that episode right now, as On Screen will get there in a few week.

And a side comment on the holodeck. Yes, we know that the holodeck is a combination of forcefields, photons, and a mixture of replicated material. But keep in mind that you can’t really apply holodeck logic to the first season of TNG. If we did, half the episode would have been looking for a saboteur who programed the holodeck to replicate a virus… which might actually have been a better fit than the Romulans.

Holodecks can also act as replicators, so while most things in a holodeck are holographic projections, some can be real matter. For example, if Picard orders a glass of wine in his Paris cafe simulation, the holodeck will replicate real wine. In Encounter at Farpoint, Wesley falls in water and is still wet when he leaves the holodeck, because the holodeck replicated real water.

Of course, Star Trek is very inconsistent about exactly how the holodeck works, so really the technical explanation is just a plot device to cover that inconsistency.

For example, the technical manual for the Enterprise D says that replicator technology must replicate matter at the molecular level and can’t replicate matter at its quantum state, which prevents replicators and holodecks from creating complex organisms like people, but that it can create simple organisms like plants. However, this explanation makes no sense scientifically, and it’s just technobabble to prevent the holodeck and transporter from becoming Deus ex machina plot devices.

    Very entertaining.

cq1) good writing, little jj type action.
cq2) I would love for stories to intertwine between the two. Starts but does not conclude on the show, and then a follow up in the game and so on.
cq3) Way too much going on for one episode.

    Great show guys.

    Here are my TWCQ answers:

    1. Is this possible the Captain Sulu show that was talked about in the 90″s? If so i think that would be a winner!

    2. YES! More ships! More episode cross overs! More voice talent! I really would like to see more T1, T2, T3, and T4 ships for the KDF and Romulans!

    3. Angel One HAS TOO MUCH GOING ON!The Romulans were exampled later that they were looking at what killed there colonies… aka the Borg.

  7. Stewart Jones on 2016-04-19

The on screen segment, the activity in the neutral zone is later referred to be borg activity. this appears later in an episode ( first time we see the romulans, and outposts have been scooped from planets)

Hey guys! First off, I want to say that I 100% agree with Kenna: The Na’Kuhl modeled their bridges from the Pinocchio whale! I knew it looked familiar.

Regarding an anthology era: I always wanted to see the lost adventures of the Enterprise C. Not very much exists in the canon universe regarding Captain Rachel Garrett and First-officer Shooter McGavin *cough* –I mean Richard Castillo. It would give more depth to the “Yesterday’s Enterprise” episode, and it would make us empathize more for the tragedy of their crew.
