I agree with sarcasm detector regarding forums — past what we’d think, they continue to evolve and remain popular. If you look at where we get the word (the Roman Forum) the concept has gone strong for at least 2000 years. But, I digress — I’ve used vanilla forums on another game and forum activity among the players is pretty constant — the interface is nicer than the one we currently have in STO and thread updates are easier to see.
Another reasons forums remain handy is that we may not be able to be in the game from work, but many of us can check the forums.

    Great show as always!

Outstanding Show. I have to disagree with Elijah. I think the forums are bombing and I see first time poster asking questions all the time. While i do follow the Twitter Dev tracker and it is where I get all my Dev news, it only offsets their forum post.

In last weeks Tribble Patch notes there is a fix coming down for doff mission that are over rewarding CXP and SPXP. While I love fixes this is only hurting the opinion of the dev, by the players base. a good amount of players are concerned about the amount of SPXP they receive, taking a source away is not the answer. Geko even said that he wanted to over hall and normalize doff rewards. Why not hold off on this fix until this can be addressed in his overhaul. Another way the Dev team can help players earn SPXP over flow CXP beyond 150k to SPXP.

    For example:
If a player has reached 150k Military Commendation they stop earning it. Why not channel this unapplied CXP to SPXP. (I know you can turn CXP into fleet marks/credit, but some players have enough). This would encourage players to doff after completing commendations.

Is the new show going to be a Mystery Science theatre-style review?

Awesome show guys. I’m rather surprised that nobody mentioned anything about the possible fleet changes coming. Many fleets, including P1 fleet, see to stall on doffs. While we can get doffs for fleet credits; nobody wants to spend fleet credits on that. If it was possible to get those doffs with expertise or fleet marks it would be a huge help to fleet projects. That or just make some projects that don’t need doffs.

Also with the upcoming skill revamp I really hope they don’t use a traditional tree system. What I love most about the current system is that I can jump skills. By that I mean I don’t need to have points in skill X to use or unlock skill Y. Its very customizable which is STOs strongest feature in my opinion.

While i support this skill revamp, It needs a more real life feel. I currently don’t get how a captain’s skill effects hull and shield strength, power transfer rate, and how it takes three skills to make one power effected. I would love to see a new skill three that might be captain specific or rewards specific. I don’t like the diminishing returns on putting point on the higher end of the skill. I would suggest to remove this for class specific skills. Then you run into the class specific ship for a class specific captain which Cryptic tries to stay away from.

A little late to the party here, but if you need doffs, here’s a few ideas:
Whites sell on the ah for ~30k,but greens only ~50k often less (hello chef and bartender). Buy a green break him down into three, sell two donate one, repeat infinitely. Earn ec and fleet credits. The purple explore cluster boffs become 27 whites and are free. I like the doctor from the zone right by earth.

Also, this works for any blue that you can buy for cheaper than ~180k ec or purple you can buy under ~550k ec. If you want a reasonable profit plus the ability to donate on every round I mean. If you don’t mind losing the ec then blues are the best ec per white doff value.
