Why are you talking about purchasing powers with lobi? Surely purchases through Zen would be far better.

As the Leader of a small fleet populated by ‘players’ rather than ‘grinders’ I can honestly say that losing the hourly events in favour of weekend events isn’t really that big a deal. The Dilithium Mine is a far better and more helpful tool to my fleet and I would suspect the same for other small fleets where the majority of players cannot get on every day.

As for my fleet, we completed all the active projects and then only ran Dilithium Mine projects till we hit Tier 1. Well, that was last week and yes it took an age to do, but my fleet-mates and I are more interested in having fun than grinding and the fleet’s current progress is a result of that ethos. It might take us a while to get anywhere at the moment, but we will get there and the Dilithium mine will make the overall progress quicker than FM and DIL events ever could.

That being said, I think there are plenty more things that could be done to make small fleet progression easier. It’s often mentioned that large fleets cannot get hold of FC and small fleets seem to have ridiculous amounts and certainly, my fleet fits that descriptor well, but there is still not a lot to do with FC and a selection of projects where progression is primarily FC based would make so much difference to small fleets whilst not really effecting large fleet progression.

I agree that mid-tiered rewards for the Fleet would be a lot more enjoyable, but I think scrapping the Unlock projects would actually be more satisfying when all’s said and done.

Anyway, keep up the good work guys.

I’m the head of a small fleet and the biggest issues we have are fleet marks and dilithium. We focus on dilithium, we don’t feel like grinding out fleet marks and vice versa. Not everyone wants to be in big fleets, some of us like being in small fleets with our friends. I’m an introvert, it takes me awhile to warm up to new people. Why should we have to bring in a bunch of strangers just so I can finally get the sweet sweet fleet D’Deridex and fleet Sovereign I want? In the past I’ve advocated some sort of tier system based on the number of ACCOUNTS in the fleet, and the prices for all the projects would be based on what tier your fleet is. For instance, tier 1 would be up to 25 accounts, 2 would be 25-50, and so on. And once you hit a tier, that’s what you stay at regardless if you dip below the threshold or not. Will we wever see it happen? No, but it’s an idea and that’s what needs to be happening, more ideas so they they may finally see something and say “THAT we can do.”

    Farming FM is so easy…
in additional if you have a team of 5 players that know how to farm NWS is peace of cake to fill out the fleet marks and doffs in the projects. all you need to do is to play NWS a lot farming FMs like a maniac and after that fill up projects. if you still have FMs open a project fill up only the FM and cancel it. repeat the step over and over again until all the 5 players used all the FMs. now all of you have a huge amount of fleet credits and you can buy doffs from fleet starbase and complete your projects. dilithium is the big problem in small fleets…but imo this game promote comunication, meeting new people and so on… in conclusion small fleets are an abomination for sto.

    go pro or go home!

Fleet Marks…My problem isn’t the amount of marks I can get, because I collect about a 1000 fm a week easily. My problem is that on the projects, I can’t turn them in because my other fleet mates beat me to it. But at the same time, no one wants to buy the DOFF to complete the project and I can’t help because I am not able to turn in those marks to get the fleet credits to buy the officers needed.

We have the same problem with Dil. No one likes giving that up either.

Hmmm I thought you said less “Doom” last week. Seems that this week was a 180 turn around.

While the Q events has its problems, once picked up you got 20 hours. Come back to later. I farmed them with 16 toons. How many 1000 Bonus XP do i have now? 90 and i plan to do it still every day for the rewards till it ends.

As for the science Ship i was only going to get none but those WARP CORE’s for the set, changed my mind. I am glad i got them now. but i think the problem with Sci ships is most people don’t understand their strengths. I get told alot that my science ships are OP… and least face there not.

Hey guys, great show. As the leader of a tiny fleet (3 contributing players with multiple characters each), I actually find that the bottleneck for advancing in the fleet system is Dilithium, not Fleet Marks.

I rely heavily on the DOFF system’s Commendation Reports, and have found that with enough topped out DOFFing characters, it can actually supply all the fleet mark needs for my tiny fleet. As I like to say, the DOFF system giveth, the fleet system taketh away.

So far our tiny fleet has a Tier 3 Starbase, Tier 2 Embassy and Dilithium Mine and a Tier 1 Spire.

Hey guys, enjoyed the show. About the event changes, the motivation wasnt to make it easier or even more fun for players. The motivation was to get as many people as possible to log on each weekend. They figured that by making the events more scarce, people will be more likely(or desperate if you are a small fleet) to want to play all weekend during each event. Is this the right thing to do from a fun gameplay perspective? Not really. But the business logic definitely makes sense, and at the end of the day thats what STO is.

I have to agree with Broadneck (the last player feedback you read out on the show) about needing to take a break from building fleet projects and get back to something story based.

As a Co-fleet leader of Caspian, I do notice that members of Caspian disappear when there is nothing on except to work on the feet projects, only to have a handful to stay around. But when a new season launch comes along, especially with a new feature episode or story based content, they seem to come back in droves to check it out and get really busy for a couple of days, only to disappear again once they are finished with it.

Sure, real life could play a part in it too and we had some life during the time we lost the old Caspian and rebuild. But I have seen it allot busier in Caspian before STO’s season 6 launched with the fleet star base was introduced.

    Good show guys.

    Excellent show guys.

P.S. Yes i want the “afficianados” ring tone as well.

To tell you the truth the hourlies never figured into how I advanced my tiny tiny fleet (remembering how I got the Tier 1 of the Dilithium Mine by myself.) You just have to put your nose to the grind stone (heavy on the grind)and work your Boffs off.
