That’s quite a clash you guys had over relations between Federation and Klingons, or a bella civicus if you will, I wonder if there is some way this dispute could be incorporated into the game.
A Klingon Civil War could be a great way to test out new features like territory control, or mutually exclusive reputation projects. Klingons would choose between pro-Martok and pro-J’mpk, Federation players would choose between assisting pro-Martok faction and maybe enforcing non-intervention directives. Existing KDF players would get additional contents, perspective KDF players would get new ways to play their Klingon character, devs would get to test out new features, and for finishing the new reputation project maybe I could get a B’rel for my Federation character.

    HEy! Watch the tongue!

Seriuosly though I must disagree with you wanting the war to end.

The war needs to be a intergral part of STO at the start and through the ranks as its the biggest part of the backstory of the game.

The new player needs to start as the idealistsic young hero thrust into greatness of instant field command against the whole quadrant as he sees it in chaos.
Through leveling and storyline missions then hero then needs to learn that all is not as it seems and it may be time to keep up the spirit of thier faction rather than the letter said faction may follow. Overtime (leveling) the hero learns the full story and starts to take action, wether supported by his superiors or not, to correct the chaos and fight the greater foe (endgame).
The story needs to be set up so that the character can experience this artificial growth of awareness as he levels and then, only then, make the choice (but not really) where they set aside (if only for a time) the hostilities with his frenemy to fight the good fight.

We have the good fight at endgame (where most of us are now and lets be honest, it dont take long to get there) for the most part (I think we need more faction – but all faction- STFs) the story is both incomplete and downright missing to get it.

The feds have a few missions on the way up that hit on the KDF war, the Undine threat and even the Iconians ( I think) that lend wieght to what Cryptic attempted to do with the story that would show the player this.

The KDF have near squat (though our KDFonly missions are Awesome) that tells the KDF player what is going on and that needs to make up a part of OUR low level content from start.

Then when one reaches Endgame the war would have made sense personally and would make sense gamewise becuase the Undine are still in place and the UFP is not anymore back in the hands of the good guys than our KDF may be as well (J’mpok a tripod*) considering the Iconians run the badguy show.

How would this affect endgame PvP?
Not at all. You as the hero are keeping up apreances for you possible Undine infiltrated superiors by continueing the war.

Senseless in light of the overall bad picture but hey, it doesn’t count.
    Why?
We do not die but for a instance in STO and forget not that Q hangs around an awful lot.

Who’s to say this is not all just one of his twisted games?

After all the trial never ends.

SOrry for the spelling and gramar above. Glenlivvet makes it tough.

      * almost forgot. I don’t know if J’mpok is a Tripod or not. I just over heard him get called that when he was sitting in the ViP area of anothr bar I frequent called Kortar’s Docks when I’m not at the Gates of Stovokor. I think it was a barmaid or a stripper, not sure that said it.

Chech’tluth can be a bad choice on nights like that.
