Elio is a Northern New Jersey Cuban-American and graduate of Kean University, having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance in 2011. He has performed in internationally renowned performance halls such as Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic, as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, and in Beijing, China as a representative for Kean University. Since 2012, he has had the wonderful opportunity to Executive Produce Priority One – the premiere Star Trek Online podcast. Whether recruiting, managing the global team of talented volunteers, arranging interviews with special guests, editing, web-development, finding sponsors, managing crowd funding, or writing content for the podcast, Elio has a hand in it all. A long-time Trekkie, Elio has been watching the series since he was a child and sneaking in late night, back-to-back, episodes of TNG reruns. He finally embraced the Trekdom in college and spent many hours catching up on the entire multiverse…. instead of studying.

I would like to see a mini-series based on Star Trek Academy. Since its based on Earth, much of the filming can be done on a TV budget and not a movie budget. There are plenty of story options, as has been shown through all of the TV episodes, movies, books and graphic novels which touch upon the Academy at some point. You could bring in Cameos from other franchises as instructors, where age disparities would not be of much consequence. Finally, if you really wanted to, you could even include William Shatner as Boothby!
I saw ‘Star Trek Beyond’ as part of a trilogy screening, with the two earlier JJ-verse movies shown beforehand. They had trivia contests between the movies, with prizes for the winners; both my wife and daughter did better than I did. While standing in line for snacks, I was able to freely chat about all things Star Trek, including Star Trek Online. It was a truly great and memorable experience!

I once attended a live screening of Smokey and the Bandit. When Jackie Gleason made his first appearance on screen (as Sheriff Buford T. Justice), the entire audience spontaneously broke into applause. It was like attending an old-school stage performance where the audience applauds the first entrance of the beloved veteran actor.

Can’t think of any specific plot I’d want to see in a Nick Meyer trilogy (still think that ‘Khan on Ceti Alpha V’ one is a bit thin on substance though); if it has strong, memorable characters and an impactful story, I’ll probably be good.

I’ve had two experiences with movies on the big screen in open spaces. The first time was when The Lion King was reintroduced into theaters. I figured it was going to be mostly kids but I was wrong. It was everyone like me who grew up watching the Lion King. Imagine a theater where everyones quoting the movie and singing along in generally Merry Spirits. The second one was when TWOK was reintroduced into theaters last year. I had to travel 30 miles to an AMC to see it, but getting to shout KAAAAAAAAAAAAAHN with an entire theater of trekkies was so cool.
