Elio is a Northern New Jersey Cuban-American and graduate of Kean University, having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance in 2011. He has performed in internationally renowned performance halls such as Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic, as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, and in Beijing, China as a representative for Kean University. Since 2012, he has had the wonderful opportunity to Executive Produce Priority One – the premiere Star Trek Online podcast. Whether recruiting, managing the global team of talented volunteers, arranging interviews with special guests, editing, web-development, finding sponsors, managing crowd funding, or writing content for the podcast, Elio has a hand in it all. A long-time Trekkie, Elio has been watching the series since he was a child and sneaking in late night, back-to-back, episodes of TNG reruns. He finally embraced the Trekdom in college and spent many hours catching up on the entire multiverse…. instead of studying.

You know, I think the Discovery uniforms have grown on me. I’d rather they stick with what they have right now than try to force the TOS colors too quickly. For one, I’m not convinced that the TOS colors would look any good on the actors; the bad photoshop job in that one article link certainly doesn’t seem great. I think that’s the same reason Gene changed the color scheme when TNG started; Patrick Stewart looked AWFUL in Command Gold, and SMG isn’t helped by it either. TV practicality comes first.

Am I just really tired or is the download link missing now? The uniforms are just another symptom of the reimagining, that said I don’t expect to see original style uniforms but a nod to the colours would be nice the discovery ones are too fancy imo

I would really love to see them evolve into the iconic uniforms we all know and love or at least use the color divisions. Maybe even a teal for medical? Naw that’s not til the TNG Era.

I would like to see the uniforms evolve closer to the colored ones we’re familiar with. However, I agree with you that they don’t have to be exacting to the 1960’s sensibilities. For example, as much as I enjoyed them as a young man, I don’t think we should bring mini-skirts back to Starfleet Officers.
