Hey P1, Great to have everyone back. As for what I thought of the Anniversary’s Featured EPisode? I loved it. I can honestly say I didn’t see most of it coming because I had brushed the protagonist off. It felt great. It played like a real episode of Star Trek, the ups, the downs, very reminiscent of a good episodeo f Voyager. I love that we’re filling in the gaps that Enterprise Series laid down and I feel the ending was a very big “To Be Continued” making our next forthcoming episode be “part 2.” I especially loved the ending sequence although I wish that SPOILER ALERT we had fallen out of warp and back to normal space, graphics wise. But overall, it was fantastic. I give it 10 nerve tonics out of….. Dammit Cookie stop drinking my rating system!

my tickets for Star Trek Las Vegas have been confirmed. I’ll be going all five days and I also bought tickets for the Dallas convention. This will be the first time that i’ve been to a local Star Trek convention but I’ve been to plenty of local comic cons. Speaking of which there’s one coming up in a couple of weeks. It may not be completely Star Trek but Brent Spiner is coming so that’s a start. I quite enjoyed the new featured episode. I liked that we finally got to learn more about the temporal accords as it was something referenced in Enterprise but not explained in detail. SPOILER ALERT I didn’t see Noye’s treachery coming. he even had the same goal as Annorax did. He wanted to “force time to give him back his wife.” the ending felt like something that could rival “The Best of Both Worlds”. I’m looking forward to part II and I’m interested to learn more about the role that the sphere builders play in all of this.

cq1) Wont be able to go at all. All travel plans pushed back one year.
cq2) Nice, glad that the episode gives 400 for the ann ship.
cq3) It was typical of the first couple seasons, the UFP is always right. Those rebels attacked our people, crush them for the new culture. Those rebels appealed to us and the other side was rude, let them crush the new culture we just met.

    Highly entertaining episode.

    1) My wife and I will be going to the Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage concert on February 20th.

    2) The episode was highly entertaining, quick for replays and provides a set for characters who use Polaron weapons. Another energy type gets a non-crafted Omni-directional beam array. I’m very happy with it. I also liked being able to shoot at Noye several times.

Suddenly I feel like Brainy Smurf is trying to kill us. I hope Cryptic was going for a pathetic villain, because that’s what it seems like. And that can work. In “Invasive Procedures,” Verad, the Trill who stole the Dax symbiont, was a pathetic villain (until joined), and he was great. Noye seems like someone who’s high strung and not trying to understand things, a bit delusional, who got himself a superweapon and some powerful allies. That can work, but we need more episodes to see how it goes. The maps in the mission were wonderful — love how the station resembled the Enterprise-J interior but showed Solonae architectural influence — but felt there should have been more unrecognizable aliens or people in ENT or TOS era uniforms there that we could see, even if we couldn’t speak to them. How about a Vorgon? I also hope its explained when and where Noye’s Krenim allies are from. But as it as, the mission good but not quite great. Want to see more.

Fortunately, we do have 6 more episodes in this story arc. So that’s rather a good chunk of narrative to develop the characters and plot.

Tragically, I’m too poor to travel and no one ever does events in Hawaii. Honestly, I don’t think there’s ever been a trek convention here. Ever. So I’m not doing anything out of game for the anniversary.

In game, I love the new episode. I have many characters who are excited about the set. That new console is amazing, polaron torpedo (untyped) and particle gen damage all in one. The story is doing a good job of showing the temporal cold war getting started. Even the anti-federation sides not entirely getting along with each other so you can see it falling apart even as it begins. I did see Noye turning on us, all the way back in the episode where we lost his wife. That said it was well written and his voice actor is doing a good job. what really steals the show for me though are the visuals. Those new temporal warp effects are great. Whichever artist is responsible gets a tip of my hat. Both the “in warp fighting” effect and the “warp in/warp out” effect. Love ’em.

In Justice, I think Picard did try some diplomacy, but not much and nothing terribly effective. Really, I thought the most telling bit of the episode was as you mentioned that the kids were the only ones who thought through the ramifications of their laws and tried to help.

Great show, and best of luck in the Academy Elija and Cookie. I’m jealous and I hope you have a great time!
