    Great show as usual all!!!

My comment relates to the continual progression of new BOFFs tied to “new ship packs”. I feel like I am being forced to buy something I do not want (new ship skins) for something I would find very useful in game. Make my space avatar my space avatar…don’t force me into something I do not like please.

I am actually excited about the new pilot ability specialization tree. I have found the other ones not all that exciting and ended up wasting my specialization points on just Intel. Then cookie started raving about the pilot track on an earlier podcast, so I gave it a closer look. To date, I have only add new captain tokens to that tree. Rock and Roll Cookie! Rock and Roll! Can’t wait till I can switch it to my primary specialization and scrape some shields! Keep up the good work. I love the podcast!

    You friend and fleet mate,

My main has the full pilot secondary so the full primary will not take that long. I love the idea of the spec’s being switchable between primary and secondary.

Loved the episode, and the outtakes, this was definitely Cookies hardest yet to judge by the outtakes.

I am really interested about where they are going with the pilot specialization… and the fact that will be a primary, but I wonder if I make pilot primary can I equip say command also?

    A great show as always.

I think it is awesome that they are expanding the pilot specialization tree and adding more skills and maneuvers in addition to the changes to primary and secondary specializations. I only wish that the trees weren’t laid out in such a way that forces me to spend these hard earned spec points on certain skills I absolutely do not need or want to get to the one that I do. Keep the awesome content coming P1 crew, and job well done on another fantastic episode!

P.S. Any progress with a town hall style meeting with you and Cryptic? I don’t doubt that that type of Q + A interaction would be well received by the community and go a long way to bettering Cryptic’s image with the player base.

    Hey, guys.

I am /loving/ the specialization trait system! Rock and Roll and subsequent trait tree – ergo, Magic Carpet Ride (someone is a classic rock fan over at STO) – allows immunity and refreshes maneuvering defense (doesn’t stack), so keeps the ship alive during action when it seem all hope is lost (i.e. Crystalline blast).

EDIT: This is a smart move on Cryptic’s part to provide incentives for specialization as the game starts becoming more complex.

Servitors are going to be our testing grounds for these traits. By the time we have our configurations figured out, the proof will be in the Iconian pudding!

Borticus was (or still is?) in a rock band iirc. Some of the names in the spec trees really have his handwriting 🙂

I’m pretty excited about the Pilot specialization. It includes tons of cool maneuvers I can’t wait to try out on ships.

I was unsure of them at first; they seemed more quality-of-life stuff than truly performance enhancing elements. But then, the same goes for the extremely popular Tactical Team 1 – very modest buff to damage, and shield auto-balance… we can do it ourselves, but TacTeam does it slightly better.

Same difference with pilot powers, I think. We can do piloting feats ourselves, but we’ll do them a lot better with those powers. If, at least, they look like what VirusDancer listed from Tribble on the official forums.

I’m liking the looks of them because they could help plug up certain powers for some of my ships. For example, I’m not fond of Commander-tier engineering powers, and I’d love to replace them with a pilot power instead.

I’m not overly fond of lieutenant-tier science powers on science vessel; that could provide a nice avenue as well.

So, yeah, I’m pretty eager to see these in play. The pilot spec alone is already pretty popular so I see this going in a good direction.

    Do I want a pilot-specced T6 Luna-class or do I want a more science-oriented specialization for the T6 ship I look forward to the most? I don’t know! 😀
