It’s been a long road…

Hello Admirals,

As you might have already heard, I am retiring as Host on Priority One Podcast. But, let me start by saying this won’t be the last you hear my voice!

Around this time, four years ago, I had the pleasure of auditioning for the show as Brandon and Mark began a new chapter in their lives. Together with Elliot & James, we continued that the legacy Brandon and Mark had already established. Throughout the years, we added our own flavor to the show, introduced new voices, and began working with some of the most talented groups of artists, audio editors, writers, and creators on the planet.

Honestly, this group of talented volunteers – each with a passion for Star Trek – are the backbone of Priority One Podcast.

With over 200 episodes and side-productions under my belt (mostly covering Star Trek Online) and five- years of practically non-stop gaming dedicated to Star Trek Online, I feel I’ve given everything I can to represent the Community. It’s time to dust off the Xbox, load up some games on the PC, and get back to casually gaming.

Like I mentioned at the start – it’s not the last you’ll hear from me. I will be behind the scenes of Priority One Podcast continuing my role as Executive Producer. I will ensure that the production, format, and quality of the show continues to meet your expectations from week to week. You just won’t hear me rant on behalf of the silent majority anymore (btw, thanks for that one r/sto).

In the meantime, we will begin scouting for someone to fill the gap. I’m hoping to find someone that – like me – is a “middle-class” player. Someone that floats between the Min-Max’er and the novice. Someone who casually plays STO but, has a passion for the game when they do play. More importantly, someone who can keep their ear to the ground and be attentive to the Star Trek Online Community vibe.

On a personal note, there’s no way I’m giving up a hosting gig! I am a performer and you have been the best audience I could ask for. So, CookieCupcakes and I have begun work on a new show titled “On Screen.” What can you expect from this new show? Well, we are going provide colorful commentary as we watch Star Trek episodes!! Beginning with Star Trek: Enterprise! – That’s right, we’re going Timeline! Not Air-Date! – You will then be able to sync us up with Netflix (or whatever) and watch the episodes along with our commentary. We’re even bringing back James Lee to be a host… actually, I’m not even sure why we’re bringing back James Lee…. /sigh   😛

You can expect to grab Priority One Production’s On Screen later this summer.

In any event, it’s been a great ride hosting Priority One Podcast for the last four years but, my time has passed. It’s time to bring in some fresh blood to represent you!

Thank you all for the warm wishes on Facebook & Twitter! I am humbled that you welcomed me into your lives each week!

Sincerely,
Elijah

Elio is a Northern New Jersey Cuban-American and graduate of Kean University, having earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance in 2011. He has performed in internationally renowned performance halls such as Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic, as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, and in Beijing, China as a representative for Kean University. Since 2012, he has had the wonderful opportunity to Executive Produce Priority One – the premiere Star Trek Online podcast. Whether recruiting, managing the global team of talented volunteers, arranging interviews with special guests, editing, web-development, finding sponsors, managing crowd funding, or writing content for the podcast, Elio has a hand in it all. A long-time Trekkie, Elio has been watching the series since he was a child and sneaking in late night, back-to-back, episodes of TNG reruns. He finally embraced the Trekdom in college and spent many hours catching up on the entire multiverse…. instead of studying.

I can’t thank you all enough for all the kind words of encouragement! It’s really easy to allow negativity to cloud one’s sense of perspective and overshadow the wonderful truth: That you are all our friends and loyal supporters of our work. You see, your time is precious to me and I respect it immensely. Thank you for taking time to not only listen to the show each week but, for taking the time to come on to the site and write a comment. You are all great people!

    Elijah & Cookie,

We will all miss you both very much! I understand looking for new adventures and projects to pursue and wish you and Cookie all the luck in the world in your new journey!

Elijah, I want to thank you for all the opportunities you have given me from P1 fleet leadership, to starting and hosting the Fleet Twitch stream and now with letting me run the audio live stream of the P1 pod cast. I also want to say, I can’t believe the load you where carrying, with all you do on the back end with the pod cast. You are a true professional and great leader! BTW I still think the shotgun promo was your best work!

Cookie, My nerve tonic goddess, I have had so much fun with you girl! From our midnight run’s during the winter event to the after show mission run’s (go to the middle) and most importantly the way you made us all laugh during the live cast (OMG I just found my mic volume). Your lovely personality and kind sprite will sorely be missed every Thursday night. It has been my honor to get to know you and play STO with you, and to call you my friend!

In closing all I want to say is, Second star on the right, and straight on till morning, and much love to you both from me!

    -AB

Adding my voice as a newish listener to say that I’m sorry to see you go, I enjoyed you. Like the grand nagus, I’m curious if you’re burned out on sto or just on p1 or what.

    Still, thanks for the show.

Please be sure to post the link to your new show here where we can find it!

Also, on a side note, the YouTube link to the enterprise intro preview is Alan Sheppard, which was my favorite scene in the opening.

Man, I for one am gonna miss ya. I could take a few months off from the game, come back to priority one, and listen to all the scuttle butt that happened in my absence.

Bright horizons for your future Elijah.

On behalf of the entire STO community, and with my own personal gratitude, THANK YOU ELIJAH. Thank you for the work you have done, the time you have put in and your incredible commitment to making this the best darn Star Trek Online podcast out there. Enjoy your well earned break and live long and prosper.

Without you Elijah, None of this would have been possible.

Well Elijah, we may not have always agreed on certain issues, but I’ve always enjoyed hearing your thoughts.

I am slightly curious though; normally when someone stops something like this it is due to needing more time in RL, but if I am reading you right you are leaving this cast only to be starting a different one. So are you just feeling burned out on this specific game?

  14. Ray Borg on 2015-05-08

Thank you for hosting priority one over the years. wish you all the best with other things you do in the future. Long live and prosper.
